This post will take a different turn from looking at a specific technology to just staying positive during an unprecedented event in our lifetime.

Essential Workers

I have nothing but gratitude and thanks for all of the front line workers who are keeping the lights on, garbage service running, grocery stores open and health care professionals trying to hold things together the best they can.

Perspective of Tragedy

Hearing the stories of loved ones dying and families not able to say in person goodbyes is something that none of us will be able to understand unless we have been through it. However, all of us at some point in our lives have been through something that we have no control over and only can deal with how we react to the reality of what is happening. Right now, we need to stay focused on taking of yourself first. When you are whole, then it makes it much easier to treat others with the respect they deserve.

It doesn't matter what you have been through, someone else has experienced it too. Regardless of what the world tells us, we are all more alike than different. The difference will be how you choose to respond. Will your response be to tear people down or build them up? That is up to you.

The Good Side of Quarantine

As of now, my immediate family and I have avoided the COVID-19 virus so far, so good. That could change at any moment and we have accepted whatever outcome that may be.

With software contracting options drying up with companies pulling back on spending taking the wait and see approach, it has allowed me to double down and focus on the project that I am attempting to turn into a business. Working from home, I have been able to see and spend more time with my family and especially now since they are schooling full-time from home as well. I have been able to concentrate on my health and fitness - eating better, working out and riding my bike. We are fortunate to live in a fairly rural area to have plenty of space and have quality neighbors. Plenty of opportunity to go outside and not be crowded.

I have so much to be thankful for during this time. Also, I have many of the same challenges and concerns as everyone else.
